Terre Rouge & Easton Wines was founded by Bill Easton and Jane O’Riordan in the 1980s. Winemaker Bill Easton is one of the most critically-acclaimed in California. We make over thirty different wines, many of which are very small production lots. Each is unique and site-specific with a sense of place (terroir) in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Our vineyards are farmed sustainably with a focus on biodynamics.
Job Description:
The Vineyard & Cellar Technician will work alongside the winemaker and assistant winemaker to craft world class wines at our facility in Shenandoah Valley, CA. Vineyard work will be at our sites, located within 10 miles of the winery. Day-to-day responsibilities will be based on the skills and experience of the candidate, but will include independent work. This is a great opportunity to learn and gain experience at a family-owned, vertically-integrated winery business. This is an entry-level full-time salary position with benefits. Compensation will be based on the background and experience of the candidate.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Viticulture, Enology, Ag Sciences, or Ag Business.
• Ability and desire to work outside.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Highly-organized and time efficient.
• Desire to learn.
• Ability to lift at least 55 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime during harvest.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Conversational Spanish.
• Experience in vineyard or orchard work management or the wine industry.
• Mechanical aptitude, including tractor driving and repair work.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
