Golden State Farm Credit’s (GSFC) internship program offers college students the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job training of the agricultural finance process, including agricultural lending and real estate appraisal in Northern California and the South Valley.
About the Internship:
* Eight-week paid internship from mid-June to early August
* Internship will rotate between Chico and Kingsburg offices; interns will be based in a GSFC office but required to travel
* Exposure to loan applications, tax analysis, credit analysis, and credit philosophies
* Exposure to both agricultural real estate and chattel appraisal practices and techniques
* Conduct field inspections
* Learn resources and techniques for prospective customers
* Work directly with the marketing department
* Identify steps in the loan documentation process
* Exposure to diverse agriculture in Northern CA and the San Joaquin Valley.
Requirements:
* Candidate should be a sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture business or a related field
* Two years of relevant coursework completed by start of internship
* Strong attention to detail and proficient skills in Microsoft Office
* Ability to work with multiple individuals throughout the organization
* Willingness to travel between GSFC regions throughout the internship
