The opportunity:
Do you want to have a positive impact by leveraging technology to solve practical problems? We are seeking a “Software test engineer” to join our growing team. AgMonitor provides farms with an innovative decision-support tool to optimize the water and energy systems in the Food and Ag sector. We have had the patience to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve real and practical problems in farming in the food-energy-water nexus. Check out one example of our impact here.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with two dynamic teams. Under the Head of Software, you'll contribute as a junior developer, initially focusing on executing performing Q/A tests and enhancing our DevOps. You will be present in management and planning conversations to foster growth and expansion of your responsibilities over time. Under the Director of Programs, you'll serve as an advanced technical support engineer, tackling complex data issues and conducting analyses on real datasets. Collaborating with growers and industry partners, you'll apply creative problem-solving skills and effective communication to solve real challenges. This position offers potential for a full-time role in software development or technical support as the company grows.
Join our award-winning startup of less than 10 people and gain firsthand experience of how Artificial
Intelligence is transforming Agriculture.
What you'll be doing:
Help AgMonitor gather data digitally or occasionally in-person at farms, wineries and dairies.
Work to resolve complicated data challenges with real impacts to farms.
Generate models to map water use at leading wineries in California and use data to provide
recommendations on where they can save water or cost.
Enhance quality assurance through building/executing new automated and manual tests.
Improve data management and customer support through building new internal tools in python.
Generate precise procedures and improve DevOps.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, physics or related
Experience gathering data, analyzing it, and producing clear reports (work or school)
Programming experience (preferably in python and/or JavaScript) and MS office
Your own car to drive for work and a current license (reimbursements for trips available)
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment on a small team. You may be
asked to help out in other areas of the company if applicable.
What's in it for you?
Opportunity to get real work experience in numerous areas improving employability.
This is full-time hybrid position working from our Fresno office and home, with occasional trips.
Compensation is competitive and based upon your education and experience.
