This position at the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service in Washington DC assists in implementing international agricultural development and cooperation projects with foreign governments; programs that provide science-based training and technical assistance to foreign agricultural policy makers, the private sector, and foreign countries; negotiate and coordinate agreements between USDA agencies and other institutions. FAS leads USDA’s efforts to help developing countries improve their agricultural systems and increase agricultural trade. The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service is an extremely interesting place to work with lots of opportunities for career advancement and international travel. Cal Poly students' education experience and exposure to agriculture production and trade issues in fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts would be helpful as FAS launches a new program to support specialty crop exports.
