Students Gain Market Insights and build connections at IFPA

Cal Poly’s Agribusiness program continues to connect students with industry professionals through participation in the International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) annual Global Produce and Floral Show.
Twenty-four AGB students partnered directly with industry sponsors at the trade show in October, gaining hands-on experience by supporting exhibitor booths and engaging with leaders across the fresh produce sector. The program is industry-funded, with donors covering student travel and conference participation, creating valuable opportunities for professional development, networking and career exploration.
“The real-world exposure gained from working with industry leaders at IFPA added value to my personal career development and has deepened my appreciation for the agribusiness industry” said fourth-year agricultural business major Chelsea, who attended the conference for two consecutive years.
Rogell’s experience also impacted her undergraduate experience, “From gaining market insights to building connections with professionals, the IFPA program was one of my most impactful experiences at Cal Poly.”
The Agribusiness Department is seeking to expand student attendance at more trade shows and offer additional industry engagement opportunities.
