SUMMARY: The Production Intern is responsible for various farming tasks. This position will support farming compliance at Blanco Farms, LLC. This is a temporary internship during the summer months in Salinas, CA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned.
• Administers water testing
• Administers compliance testing
• Administers pump efficiency testing
• Performs rodent control
• Assists with plantings
• Participates in monthly ranch inspections and enters into Safety Chain system
• Assists with sampling for Food Safety as needed
• Maintain sprinkler pipes and report to Irrigation Foreman
• Drives tractor and reports to Tractor Foreman

• The position requires bending and stooping, especially when maintaining in-ground irrigation systems, so candidates should be in good physical shape.

• Production Interns spend the majority of their working hours outside in the open air in all temperatures and conditions.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electric shock.
• Noise level in the work environment is outdoor and moderate.
