Position Mission
The primary purpose of this position is to increase the Maintenance Department’s efficiency through;

• Applying servant leadership to foster an environment of trust in the parts room. Maintenance employees are the “customers of the parts room” and are most efficient when treated with respect.

• Reducing downtime by maintaining a well-stocked and organized parts room.
(This decreases breakdown response time and increases planned service productivity.)

• Adjusting stock-room inventory as appropriate based on cost, availability and importance.
(This reduces overhead costs and project preparation times.)

Essential Duties

Maintain Parts Room Inventory: Order parts to maintain consistent inventory levels. Order additional parts as requested by team members for new installs, repairs or services. Stock up part-lists for preventative maintenance services. Re-stock parts as they arrive.

Maintain Parts Room Stock: Organize and label parts room stock to allow for ease of use. Maintain or replace existing tag inventory system. Receive and put away parts as they arrive. Communicate with other employees when parts arrive. Manage return shipments and equipment calibrations. Reduce or increase stock quantities as appropriate. Maintain and update existing catalogues, manuals and parts-ordering resources.

Build and Maintain Vendor Relationships: Develop a good working relationship with Christopher Ranch’s existing vendors. Research and develop new vendor relationships. Compare prices and response times to ensure efficient spending. Pull quotes from vendors as requested.

HAZMAT: Become certified to track, store and dispose of Hazardous Materials as required by the maintenance, refrigeration and safety departments.

Additional Goals: Depending on the candidate’s performance, this position has the potential to also take on the additional responsibilities and corresponding titles;

• Inventory Control: The current parts room runs off a “spreadsheet and tag” system. There is potential room for growth into a more efficient digital system.

• Product/Project Costing: Christopher Ranch tracks expenses by department. Tracking parts and services for individual products and projects would greatly aid in creating accurate company costing. Creating a database for this information would require coordination between accounting, IT, Sales and Maintenance.

• Additional Purchasing and Expense Tracking: It is possible that the candidate’s realm of influence could grow to encompass control of ordering and organizing for departments other than maintenance.

• Additional KRIs: This expectation is that this position will actively participate in goal setting and establishing/meeting new KRIs. (Key Result Indicators)

Company Teams: This position is an active participant of the following teams -
• Emergency Response Team
• Safety Committee
• HACCP Team
