Dr. Christiane Schroeter, Ph.D.
Dr. Schroeter works as Associate Professor in the Agribusiness Department, where she teaches Food Marketing, Global Agricultural Marketing, and Food Retail Management. She has been awarded three regional and national teaching awards for her excellence in teaching. In 2014, she was selected as a Faculty Fellow for the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Cal Poly. Dr. Schroeter graduated with her Ph.D. from Purdue University, specializing in Agribusiness and Industrial Organization & Markets. Her dissertation employed a microeconomic framework to determine the impact of food price and policy changes on obesity, which won the Outstanding Dissertation award. She has published peer-reviewed articles in journals such as the Journal of Health Economics, Health Economics, Journal of Agricultural and Applied Economics, and the Western Economics Forum. Currently, Dr. Schroeter serves on the editorial team for the Journal of Food Distribution Research and on the editorial council for the Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Furthermore, she has been elected as chair of the Food Safety & Nutrition Section of the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA).
