Bill Townsend, Ph.D.

William Townsend is an Assistant Professor of Agribusiness and holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Oklahoma (2025). He teaches courses in agricultural economics, policy, and applied data analysis. His research centers on development and agricultural economics, with current projects examining U.S.–Mexico avocado trade, language‑of‑instruction policy in Morocco, and natural resource issues related to fracking and biofuels. He also works with the Organic Center on pest‑management strategies in California and collaborates with engineering partners in Baja California on water, energy, and food‑security challenges.
