New Assistant Professor: Tina Kotsakou
After two nationwide searches in 2022 and 2023, the Agribusiness (AGB) Department welcomed Assistant Professor Stamatina (Tina) Kotsakou to the faculty in fall 2024.
Kotsakou, who earned a doctorate in agriculture and resource economics from UC Davis in 2024, has strong quantitative skills as well as an unparalleled enthusiasm for teaching, placing students at the center of experiential learning.
“I have always been passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment that fosters a stronger sense of belonging in academia and in industry leadership,” Kotsakou said.
In her new role, Kotsakou will help bridge AGB’s robust sales and marketing program with the department’s strong and unique data skills curriculum.
“AGB has a very strong data analytics program, as well as strong sales and marketing curriculums,” said Department Head Bryan Lohmar. “Tina will help bridge these two strengths and use real-world examples from industry, which will strengthen the agribusiness program overall.”
