Letter from the Department Head

I am excited to launch the inaugural edition of Ag Biz Buzz, the new newsletter for Cal Poly’s Agribusiness Department.

Ag Biz Buzz creates a method for the department to continue engagement with stakeholders in and out of the agriculture community in California and beyond. Our goal is to make Ag Biz Buzz a regular way to share achievements, celebrate milestones, update our community on activities and offer insights into the vibrant life of the students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Don’t expect too much worded content in Ag Biz Buzz. AGB provides students with strong quantitative skills, but Ag Biz Buzz won’t have much on that. AGB also provides students with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, but Ag Biz Buzz won’t provide much on that either.

AGB uniquely excels at providing its students with extensive Learn by Doing experiences, in which they can apply the skills learned in classes through multiple cocurricular and cross-department activities. Ag Biz Buzz will focus on this latter part and will do so with minimal narrative, quotes and many pictures.
